Robyn Foxworth
Like many midwives, Robyn’s passion for birth began with the births of her children. Robyn has five children and four grandchildren. Her first born via hospital induction, the next two via natural hospital births, and her two youngest born into her heart and family through adoption. After the birth of her daughter while her husband was deployed overseas, Robyn learned about the continuous care doulas provide by watching the tv show “A Baby Story”. Robyn decided to become a doula to support other women, especially military families, who often don’t have continuous care during such a special time in their lives.
Robyn began birth doula training in 2008. Robyn’s doula trainings included: DONA International, Childbirth International, and Midwifery Assistant Training at The Farm. Fun fact: Robyn has attended births in NY, GA, LA, TX, AL, VA, KS, and Germany as a military wife. Seeing the similarities and differences that often exist for families based solely on where they live and what resources they have access to has given Robyn a unique perspective. It was through her experiences as a doula that Robyn felt called to midwifery.
Robyn received a Bachelors of Nursing from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2020. She achieved her Masters of Science in Nurse Midwifery and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from Georgetown University in 2023. Robyn is thrilled to bring her experience in birth to her practice in midwifery as she puts down roots with her family in Baton Rouge and serves women and growing families at the Birth Center. Robyn enjoys educating women about their options and values seeing them be active participants in achieving their individual health goals. She works to advocate for positive change that makes a difference in lives and outcomes. In her spare time, Robyn enjoys travel, gardening, scrapbooking, growing in her faith, and treasures time with friends and family.
